January is proving to be really tough….
First up John was here and we took the sled out for a run. This day really sucked!!!!
Cole and G arrived a couple of days later and after a few days skiing we took the sled for a spin and it didn’t work out so well…..
Yeah we got it stuck…. we walked out 5.5 miles because it was getting dark (that only took 2hrs)
The next morning we had to get it unstuck…. this involved a 7am wake up call, no breakfast, a 5.5 mile snowshoe walk, 1hr of digging, a 1 hr sled ride back and 2 crashes. That was capped off with 3hrs of night skiing culminating in a scotch or 5 in the hottub.
First pic here is the sled just after we got it out – the 2nd pic is us heading home with 2 hitch hikers (I hate dogs and I hate dickheads… we made them both sit in the back).
The next day was a little more laid back. We skied eaerly but that night the gorgeous Catherine joined us for dinner – it was a 5 minute walk and Cole was getting cold so we dropped by the sauna on the way – team foto time (the sauna was on – it was just negative 30 outside).
The next day we smacked up A-Basin. Ow yeah I nearly forgot… we skied Keystone in the morning and only hitup A-Basin in the arvo.
