Everyone said I was crazy for spending Xmas in Canberra….now that I’ve experienced it, I think everyone else is CRAZY for not being in Canberra for Xmas.
Who here has had a photo with a unicorn and a rhino (they are related so it is the same exhibit)? I have, in Canberra for Xmas.
For starters, one of my best mates Fi lives there. Fi and I have been mates since I was in my teens.
My first night in Canberra, Fi surprised me with my other best mate Little Spoon (and future best mate Mandy) coming to visit between border closures…..
While I was in Canberra, part of my rent was hiking most days. I think there are people who pay real money for trips like this.
But there are no beaches in Canberra? Well, yes there are. There is a beautiful river with sandy beaches, no sharks and no people.
There are some predators though….
Canberra even had some cricket. From Fi’s place, we could smell the cut grass at Manuka Oval. Was fantastic getting to watch a couple of games.
Fi is an awesome active person and being a guest at her place I was expected to get off my fat arse. Helping with kicking my fat arse Fi loaned me her deadly treadly and I took it for a spin around the lake….. ow that bike seat and I didn’t talk for a week after.
I’m not that skinny yet…
Fi thinks that I’m acceptable for public consumption and she was kind enough to invite me along for Fish and Chips with the girls….. Holy Batman I could write a book on what I heard that afternoon – hahaha.
I was also privileged enough to get an invite to hang out with Fi’s old school friends. Where did I sleep that night? Hahaha – what a great crew!!!
If I get an invitation to have Xmas in Canberra again…. you can bet your backside I’ll be there. Thanks for having me Fi (and your crew).
