I think this is the 3rd year Chris and Paul (the Canadian Doctors) have been in town. The first year they looked after Dave the Sailor and Dave Onions, last year they had Dave Onions to look after and this year it was only me.
I’ve got a feeling they think of this like a yearly “Doctors without Borders” visit to an isolated Canadian Eskimo village – hahahaha.
Chris and Paul are great, they are fantastic skiers and they have a wickedly sarcastic sense of humor and they bring lunch on big ski days.
This particular day in Breck, we hiked up to the Windows for lunch….
Chris bought some bionic legs this trip and she had no excuse but to go hard. Chris is only a couple of years older than I am at 37 and she is a downhill and x-country demon.
Paul is older than Chris, he is 58 – hahaha – I’m just kidding. One day I mentioned that I had a cold chin and Paul told me when I finally get through puberty I’ll be able to grow a beard as well.
One day up in Breckenridge Paul and I hiked above the new Peak 6 Chairlift. My first time up there and doing it with a 68yo like Paul was pretty kewl.
I posted this pic on the facestalker of Paul, the 78yo, snowplowing off a cornice into a 50 degree slope…..
This isn’t facestalker, I underestimated, the slope is over 50, and Paul is 88. Paul ripped it a new one which was pretty awesome. It is pretty bloody steep.
Americans think that Canadians are a little backwards and I don’t know about that but they do like the back country. On top of skiing the Minturn Mile, these guys got me into all sorts of spots……
I can count 4 lift towers… can you see the 5th?
It was 2 weeks of fantastic skiing, I think I skied 5 resorts and 11 days straight which I can’t remember doing.
Thanks for having me in Vail and I can’t wait to ski with Chris and Paul (I think he is really 98yo) next year.
There is a bunch of video from this trip which I’ll edit up later in the season.
Great times guys!!!!
