I’ve been back in Q-Town for just over a week now and its good to be back.
After the 35hr journey from Denver to Queenstown I was picked up at the airport by AJ and we went directly to the course. From the course it was back to Malcome’s until around 1pm where I discovered I was an OP rum bottle lighter. This pace has kept up all week – 8 days I’ve been here now, 6 rounds of golf (totalling nearly 600 shots – hahaha) on 3 different courses. Walked half the Routeburn and walked up to the old mining settlement of Macetown.
The rest of this week is already planned out – 3 more rounds of golf, a jetboat trip to the west coast with Dirty Dave, hiking the Greenstone tomorrow and spending the weekend (weather permitting) in Aspiring National Park, recon for a possible summit attempt when Woody gets back from Everest.
There is no snow on the peaks yet (kinda odd since every other year I’ve landed there has been snow up high) but I took this panoramic shot from just outside my bedroom window. Click here to see the full sized version.
