Monday… skiing and golf.
Tuesday…. hiking.
Wednesday… golf at Arrowtown. Another crappy day – ground was a little firm and the company was a bit average but there were no complaints about the weather or the views. Hughie, Dave the Sailor and myself.
I have a couple of comments for this pic.
Firstly, that bowl in the background is ‘Homeward Bound’ (part of Remarkables) – a run that has been written up in crappy ski mags as one of the best runs in NZ – those mags are false BUT it is a great run in good snow and since it requires a bus to get back to the ski field it is an adventure. In good snow, this is the last run of the day and the the person who looses ‘scissors/paper/rock’ has to drive the car down for the pick up.
The second comment I have about this pic….. I wish Hugh got a caddie who could keep up. What a stride!!!! You could swear he was walking up the 18th at St. Andrews on Sunday with a 5 shot lead. What a backdrop!!!!!
This shot was one hole later (the 9th). The highest peak on the top left is Concrete Peak – a nice shot of the ‘Back Bowls’. Dave the Sailor is on the tee.
This is me on the 9th tee… I think that is a pretty nice finish to a swing – pity I sliced the shit out of it and was off the fairway on the right behind a tree. Goes to show you can make anything look good in Photoshop.
