This is a long winded road trip post.

Finaly road trip post….
This afternoon Lurch and Lisa were dropped off at Denver International Airport and as I haven’t heard from them since I’m assuming they made their flight.
This is a crew foto – Lurch, Little Spoon, a bloody cold Tom and Lisa. It is about -25C and none of us look that happy (me in particular – I’m such a pussy these days). The snow was awesome though.
While in Vail Little Spoon and I had some work to do…. we did run out of power points for all our nerd equipment. No girls in the foto but we do both have glasses of spirits nearby… we are slowly blending into the human race.
A couple of pics here of Lisa ‘riding’ in Keystone.
Here is the ‘ride’ for the road trip…. no I haven’t bought a Hummer yet (I’ve got some other plans first up although the Hummer will look good in the Hidden River garage).
Lurch and Lisa’s trip was spectacularly awesome (I’m not sure if you can mix those words so close together in a sentence but I think it is fitting), and I think it is only appropriate that the final addition to this post is a toast to Warren Miller – hear-hear!!!!

Beaver Creek was the destination today – lots of Beaver jokes as you can imagine and Little Spoon (Andy) giving the beaver a rub, Lurch giving the beaver a lick and I’ve got a couple of fingers in there.
There is some great video from this day so check back here later. One mission was out of bounds and we didn’t really research this properly and it took us about 45 mins for one run.
Not sure if it was the best idea – there have been a stack of deaths this winter from avalanches (guy died in Vail on Monday).
We didn’t have time to read all the dislaimers but I’m not sure if it mentions knee deep freshies.

Winter Park to Steamboat Springs… then Steamboat Springs to Vail.
I didn’t get a chance to ski Steamboat – they had 4 feet of snow over 4 days but Keystone had similar so I’m not complaining. The Jeep is back in service and I love her…. However today I headed over to Vail and despite the Jeeps ‘nigger’ wheels I think she isn’t quite ‘classy’ enuf for Vail.
Business has been pretty good the last 12 months and I like to keep things low key…. I’ve been keeping this on the quiet but Lurch and Lisa now know so it is public knowledge – I have a 2nd set of wheels in the US. I love Jeep but I have a new love…..
Lurch has a pretty sweet ride a well……
Speaking of rides, Matty O would love this ride (for those not in the know Matty O is an Aussie mate of mine I met through Lurch and Lisa. years ago). For some strange reason he LOVES ASIAN chicks. I can’t bag his MO, I suppose they are good at ping pong. This is a pic for Matty O….
OK time for some skiing fotos – footage to come I promise. Vail has lots of cliffs – small or large. Here are some small ones….
I think today at Vail was a top 10 day for the season, the weather was pretty good, the snow was pretty good and despite a HUGE night on the grog last night I felt great on the snow.
By the looks of things Lurch thought I was skiing pretty good…. (He might be married but slowboarders are all gay at heart – here is Lurch knocking the top off off mid run).

Second up is Winter Park. First time for me and the snow was awesome – I can’t believe the road was open it was snowing that much. We survived the drive and Lurch and Lisa had a primo pad right on the snow.
I can’t believe I got a foto of me with one of ‘them’.
Winter Park has the biggest cripple program on the planet. They are used to looking after people with special needs. Have a guess how ‘friendly’ I am to them on that run…..
Its open season on homo-chariots. I thawt-I-taw-a-jibber.
Hanging out with me on her 2nd honeymoon Lisa has a new found liking for wood. Her snowboarding is now ripping and here is Lisa in the woods.
Some footage of this day coming up later this week.

First night of the road trip was down in Denver to watch some NHL Hockey. The Colorado Avalanche playing the New York Islanders. Tyler was along playing the role of translator since none of us really understood the hockey rules or the chick at the ticket office (although we are playing hockey a couple of nights a week).
Yes we were in the poor seats but the view wasn’t that bad…..
The drive home wasn’t a quick one…..
