Long legs and short skirts can only mean one thing – I’m back on the Central NSW Coast in Terrigal.
Last day in Terrigal and I was up early, sitting on the deck working and although I can see the ocean I thought I could find a better ‘office’ for the day. Headed south about 10kms and found a better office….. First time I’ve been down to this beach, amazing. Saw one person on the walk in and from the top of that wee headland you can see the Sydney skyline.
Other beaches (Thailand, Whitsundays, Hawaii, Western US) don’t have a shit show compared to this.
Sun was starting to set so I moved up onto the cliffs to get the last of the afternoon sun.
I should be learning what to expect but everytime I come back here I am gobsmacked. And this trip I’ve been doing well with the birds.
When I arrived there was some rotten weather – record breaking rainfall for June but since I have been complaining for the last 6 months about lack of precipitation I suppose I deserved it. The storms took some of the sand with them.
And I’ve been surfing as much as I can – not seeing any improvement but it is nice to be out in the water. Sunday was super warm and after getting out of bed at 1pm Al knocked on the door and said he’d get his Go-Pro out.
Here is some Go-Pro footage that shows just how terrible I am.
That last pic might look like I’ve dropped down the face and pulling a hard turn…. I’m just face planting slightly to the left.
I’ve been going ‘walk-about’ a bunch. My 2nd last week and I headed north up to my old golf club of Tuggerah Lakes. Had a beer up there before the adventure began….
And I thought I’d take a short cut on the way home – climbed up the cliffs and got far enough up that I couldn’t go back down. 2hrs later I made it the 100m (laterally) to the trail.
Terrible spot isn’t it?
