Sounds like the beginning of one of my jokes…. but this is the beginning of an awesome day skiing/hiking.
I couldn’t believe how good the weather and the snow turned out today – it was busy as bloody London so we escaped to the high country. Here is Eric, me, Dave and Little Spoon.
Some portraits of the crew – warning!!! Some of these are gay. Perhaps it was the altitude (12,614 feet) or perhaps it was the powder.
It was a bit of a mission… they boys were asking… “We are going there?”
Time for some skiing – the commercial boys were out with their cat laying down some s’s.
But since we earned the turn – we can lay tracks where ever we want…. Yes those 4 tracks are ours.
Little Spoon at the bottom of his first run – he volunteered to test the avalanche stability of the slope for us, what a sacrifice.
Eric was next up – and the next one down…. These East Coasters aren’t used to pow and after getting to know it better (it was in his ears among other places) Eric started to rip.
Dave the Marine was ‘falling’ for this beautiful Colorado powder as well.
Big smile for a guy who doesn’t even like Saturdays.
12 months ago a smiliar expedition was undertaken…. with similar results (ie pow and lots of teeth being shown during the day). Here is a pic from 12 months ago of Little Spoon.
Here is Dave today. In the words of Warren Miller…. See you same time, same place, next year.
